Pakplast Polyprophylene pipes are jointed together using socket-welding method. In order to conduct the fusion process a specific machine is used. The welding is carried out by the aid of Teflon coated plates designed specifically for each different diameter of the pipe. To obtain a perfect welding a milling cutter is used. Before starting the fusion process, the jointing areas have to be clean and dry.
Pipe Welding Method:
- The Teflon coated plates to be welded with suitable pipe diameters are mounted on the welding machine in order to heat up.
- The pipe ends are cut off straight (at right angle) by means of a proper cutting tool. If the pipe is wrapped with aluminium foil then the outer layer of the pipe is scraped off using the cutting miller.
- Then the pipes welding surfaces are cleaned carefully.
- The depth of welding is marked on the pipe surface (Look at the table)
- The female plate is placed on the pipe and the fitting part to be welded is placed onto heated male plate.
- When the pipe and fitting part is heated up to the welding temperature in the welding machine. They are joined together after the heating element has been removed.
- The joined parts are left to cool down for a certain time (Look at the welding table). Once are cooled down they can be used for further process.
